Located on the southeast coast of Sicily, Siracusa is the fourth most populous city of this island, after Palermo, Catania and Messina. In the past Siracusa was one of the biggest metropolis of the ancient world and one of the largest polis of the Greek world. Characterized by great historical, archaeological and landscaping riches on the ancient, Renaissance and Baroque profile, in 2005 the city has been included between UNESCO World Heritage Sites, together with the Pantalica’s Necropoli.
